Little Big Man

Well this was taken today. We were outside playing. He just got a haircut yesterday, so this is the new doo. He seems like he is so big all of a sudden. Can't quite believe that it has been more than a year already. Well he is doing really good. He acts like he knows everything, romping around the yard, and talking in his own language. Well I am getting tired, just thought that you would like a updated picture of Christian.

The Recruiter is ALIVE

Well, this morning we got an unexpected surprise along with a doorbell ring. Chris' recruiter came over to tell us some very promising news. He will be going back to MEPS within the week, and should be signed. He went in today and re-signed some paperwork. So everything is ready. She said that he was at the top of the list, "Number One" as she put it, and that everthing would be taken care of before his birthday...........which is December 15.

We got quite a kick out of this considering the fact that Dad just called them a day or two ago. They really got their act together.
But that is the latest. So we will keep ya'll informed as thing progress.

Nothing Really

Well we just got back from our friends about an hour ago. I had to put the new fuel pump in her car. She is so glad she has her car again, poor girl hasn't been able to drive her car in a month or more. Let me say this was the first time i have replaced a fuel pump but did it as if i have done it before.
Now little man has been doing really well, he enjoyed thanksgiving and he is enjoying Christmas already. He has been playing around with the tree and the ornaments. I have a really cute video of me and him playing by the tree, and several pics but i still ha vent downloaded them to my comp. I hope i will remember to do that tomorrow. But for now i leave you at that, i am beat. So good night.

Well i know it seems like i have dropped off the face of the earth, but i have had a wicked computer virus. I got it working again, after weeks of cleaning every file and saving thousands of pictures of little man onto discs. But i want to wish everyone out there a happy thanksgiving, and be safe.

Chili and Chili

Well the past couple nights have been freezing, gets down to 40s then by noon it gets back up to the 70s, gosh. But since it gets Chili by dinner time, i made my special Chili. Nothing to special but everyone who has tasted it loves it more than anyone elses.:) Tonight it is suppose to be in the 40s and tomorrow it will be in the low 80s, HUH, how in the world! Well other than the weather report, everything is tip-top. Little mans infection is clearin up, in fact it looked like it cleared up sat, but there are still a few little spots. The medicine like gets him wired, he becomes so giddy, and with having to give it to him every 4 hours he is constantly happy. He started spinning in circles today as well. He stands and spins 1-2 times, laughs and does it some more. Well i do have some new pics of the little man and a new video of the infamous Music Man(recall septembers blog post Little Music Man), i will post those 2morow!! Other than that we went to CJs freshmen field meet saturday for rotc, got to see Ash`s lil sis again, pretty much the only time we can see her, as her aunt, whom her lil sis stays with, and ash used to stay with, is shall i say psycho. That is a BIG LONG story, so as it is late, i wont start. But anyway i should hopefully have that video and the latest pics of little man up on here 2morow. So til then,,,,

What a Day!!!!

We spent the rest of the night yesterday buying little man new bottles, sippy cups, pacifiers, more cleaners, disinfectants, getting his prescription, more medicines, all for his thrush. Today we spent all day practically cleaning house, disinfecting his toys, boiling his new stuff. But after all day of cleaning, what really drives me up the wall, is my aunt commenting, wanting this blog updated every hour of our boring lifes. Wanting to know when christian has a nose bleed, which the other day he did hit his nose and was bleeding a little, but he didn't cry, he is a tuff little man.

But i may be exaggerating a little with my aunt. We love her, and all my family up there, whom we really miss. Well anyway the Halloween pics are below.

GRRRR...Happy Halloween

Well last night we took little man out for his first time trick or treatin. It went very well. He got me all my favorite candies, lol. Everyone that he was so cute. At one house he cocked his head to the side and looked in the window next to the door looking for the person with the candy. He was smiling at everyone and even growled. I am trying to upload the pictures but it is as if i pick the wrong time to upload the pics, it keeps sending me an error. so will try later.

But now today we will be heading over to our doctors. I beleive little Chris has Thrush, an infection, most common in babys as there immune system is not as strong. But he has little white bumps/patches on his tongue and lips. Nothing serious, but will update you latr.

It Was Nice While It Lasted

The weather has done a 180. We have been enjoying the nice cold air, the overcast sky, the windchill factor of 59. But today the sun is out. I really dislike the warm weather.

Well other than me complaining about the weather, nothing to much is going on. This past Saturday we went to our friends house and from there headed over to a Halloween party. We were there for a grand total of 30 minutes. With the FL-GA game we didn't leave til like 7, the party was practically over, since it was for kids. We missed the entry for the costume contest, the games, missed all the food. Well it wasn't that disappointing for me and ash as we were able to throw little mans costume on and off easily. Our friend however had to get his kids dressed, put there makeup on, but the worst, disappointed that the gators lost to those dogs. Although they were do for a win against fl.

I have to download the pictures but i will either post pics of little man in his costume later today or 2morrow. We are fixing to head over to the park, he loves the slide. So for now, i leave you. Have a nice day.

Another Average Day.

Well it is just another average day, just sitting here in the library. Yes i go to librarys. The weather has gotten more to my liking. It has been down to the high 50s at night and low 70s for the day. It rained a little today but it just makes my day better. The cooler temp seems to relax me. It also allows little man to play outside more without sweating. I like taking him out and go walking with him. He does so well that i swear if you turn your head for more than a second, he will be down the driveway stepping onto the street. We are excited about halloween, being little man will be dressed up and hopefully get his pops some candy. :) Well nothing really spectacular to say. I am going to go look for a book now. So latr.

Camping, Tried to Atleast!!

We had planned on camping for atleast 3 weeks. Tried going one weekend but turned out we couldnt. So we decided on the next weekend and WE MADE IT HAPPEN. Thurs morning we had all our stuff ready, we were just waiting on our friends to come pick us up. Carol an old friend of my wife, her husband Lee, and there baby girl Carlee. Well we get a call and they say there suv wont start, well thats nice! So we pack our stuff up into the van and head over there, things are running through my head, wondering what it is, i was thinking it would either be the battery, starter or alternator. Keep in mind i am not a mechanic. But we get to there house and i try starting it. Well the door buzzer works, lights work, i figured, ok not the batt. It trys to turn over but it dont, made wierd noise, so i figured it was the starter. Try jumping it to make sure but after 5-10 minutes it still wasnt. To shorten this, we had the cables on wrong, they didnt make a good connection. It was the battery. So after an hour and a new battery we were on our way to camp in Camp Blanding. 35 minutes of driving and we are there. Well turns out they changed there policy, couldnt tell me on the phone when i called a day prior! They dont allow dependents (me) to bring civilians on base anymore, not even for the campground. Well pardon my language, but why the hell cant i get 3 people on when there are about 100 or more boyscouts on the grounds. I was pissed, so we drove to a local gas station and planned our next move. We decided on folkston, a place Lee has been. Of course it is now like a 1hr45min drive or more north into georgia. So we are going to camp, no stopping us. We head north and we turn around and turn around again. Pretty much doing circles because carol is on the phone with her mom finding diff. tent sites to go that are closer, but they werent tent sites, they were pop ups and campers only. We stick to going to folkston but we turn once again, we instead head west to Ocean Ponds, a camping place on a huge lake that many hunters use, for it is a National Forest. We finally get there. We set up all our tents, get stuff situated, then BAM. Here comes the rain. I am able to start cooking when the rain left at like 0 dark thirty. We eat at like 0 dark forty five. Tried getting a fire but thats a negative, everything is soaked, no dry wood.

Next day was better, the 2 kids got to play in the water, us adults got some fishing in, Carol, Ashley and the kids went to walmart to meet Carols mom with some DRY wood, and pick some things up. Mean time me and lee got some more fishing in, but got interupted by a massive wall of rain. Other than all that everything else was pretty peachy, Well except the major amout of water that leaked into both our tents! I have pictures but i am having a problem uploading them, i will try and post them latr today or 2morow.

If this trip sounds fun, lets see if we can do a canoe/camp trip next year, that should be fun!!!

Camping

Well before my aunt goes postal because i havent posted for a while, it is because we went camping! I promise i will update it 2morow, i am still beat and have little man beating on the comp. Is Bond Dead or Will He Live On?

To start off i would like to wish Roger Moore a happy 80th birthday today. http://commanderbond.net/article/2555 He is one of my favorite bond actors, Sean Connery of course is first, followed by Mr. Moore and thirdly Pierce Brosnan. But to my tittle now, is he dead or will he live on. I didn't really appreciate Casino Royale as a Bond film. As a regular movie it was good. But as a Bond film, no, it didn't have that bond feeling in it. And there are many out there who agree with me. Who feel maybe bond is about to be history. I am a big fan and i really would like to see more bond films coming out, i am all for new actors, but blonde is not Bond!!

Costume+Cute Little Man=Candy for Daddy:)

Well me and little man just got back from our little father son walk this morning, i am starting to take him for a walk down our street and back, helps build his leg muscles and gets him more used to walking on his own. A friend of ours actually came through and bought him his first Halloween costume. She wanted to do it and frankly we didnt think she would. She just bought a house with her boyfriend and both me and Ash feel like that was a BIG mistake. He says he doesnt want to get married yet because she is in school, and he wants to go to school, but that it would be to stressfull. There isnt anything stressfull about being engaged for a year or more now is there? I dont know, i was engaged for just a month or so.

But aside from that and back to my original reason for writing. She got him a cute little costume, i dont want to say what it is, you have to wait til halloween to see the pics. hahaha. Its only like 17 days away.

Well..........

So once again i was in the hotel room, and could not sleep. Didn't feel my boy role over and soccer kick me to make sure i am still breathing every hour. lol. But i got maybe 3 hours of sleep. On top of that he has just gotten over a cold which i have now gotten.
But to the point, i got all my paper work straight, which would mean only one thing, talk to my classifier for jobs, then sign. Well it is on hold once again, because i am married with a child, i have to have waivers for my traffic tickets and school. If i was single with no kids they wouldn't be as big an issue. So i have to go the headquarters nearby and talk to the CO (commanding officer), and get my waivers signed.
So hopefully i can have some good news about all this crap by the end of the month.

MEPS Take 2

Well tonight i am in the hotel again, will be going to meps tomorrow. Another long day ahead of me. Hopefully tomorrow i get some good news about the rate i want to go in and what kind of a bonus i can expect. My only concern is doing the physical again, it drags out the whole day. Having to do it a second time would suck. Well be sure to check back to find out what is going on next.

4 Shots + Crying = Lolli pop

Well, Tuesday morning was very interesting. We had to take Christian to the doctor to get his 12 month shots. We were the only people there, so we didn't have to wait very long.

They did a basic check-up....weight, height, eyes, ears, etc.....and then we waited for the nurse to prepare the shots.

When she was ready, we held him down and she stuck him.

Well needless to say, his deafening screams could be heard from the parking lot. He was twisting and turning, and trying to pull his legs free. The nurse put bandaids on his legs and handed him a lolli pop.

He grabed it, the tears stopped and out came a smile from ear to ear. The drewl pourded out of his mouth and all down my leg.

On the way home that lolli pop never left his mouth.

Lean Mean Diaper Throwing Away Machine

Its official, yesterday oct. 4 was little mans 1st birthday. He is now 1 year and 1 day old. Today he has learned how to throw away his dirty diapers. We change him and hand him the diaper, tell him to throw it in the garbage, and he sits up and walks into the kitchen and throws it away. He even tries saying it, he has the bage part down, of course it sounds alot like that bad word, b!?ch. But he seems to be learning very well. It may be a little early but we are going to try anyway, teaching him flashcard style. I mean it couldnt hurt.

But in other news i will be going back to meps sometime next week, probably like tues. That should be alot a fun again!

1st Birthday Party

September 29, 2007, That was our little mans first birthday party. It was alot of fun and turned out better than we had thought it would. This little guy knew it was coming too, he woke up in the morning nice and early, and was happy as can be. You know he knew what today was. We get to our friends house which is where we were having it, and he starts to smile and laugh because he sees the other kids, our friends kids, riding around on the 4-wheelers. This kid loves those things. I took him for a ride and he was laughing, he got mad at me when i turned it off.

So sometime after running those things for ever it seemed, we headed inside to open presents. He sat down with all these boxes around him and momma helped him open them. Well she opened some clothes but then made the mistake of letting him have a toy next. Its like the toys need to be opened all at once and last. He didnt want anything else, he wanted his little piano thing.

And of course you cant forget the cake! The pictures say it all!

Ok. Now to finish, this is really cute. We gave him a bath, dressed him, the kids played with him, and then we all went out to do some more four wheelin. He had just gotten on my lap, I took off and i mean i had only gotten 20 feet around the corner and he went back. He fell asleep

MEPS

As alot of you should know, i am planning on joining the navy, well i am one step closer. My recruiter had stopped by my house Wed. the 19 to have my wife sign some forms and she needed me to finish with the rest of the paper work. To my surprise, and this is 1130 am, she asks if i have my bags packed or if we will come back for them??????? Excuse me????????? You see, you have to stay in a hotel for the night so the next morning they can take you as a big group over to MEPS, Military Entrance Process Station, or something like that. Well anyway i was caught off guard didnt know i would be going so soon. So i throw some clothes in my bag and grab my laptop thinking i can write about what is going on in my blog. So i say good bye to my wife and son. Its only 1 day. No biggie. We finish the paper work, and she gets me and another enlistee to the hotel at like 630-700. Well i get to the hotel and i find out all the rules, you have to be in your room by 10 pm. You are not allowed outside your room after 10. No females on second floor, which is the guys floor, and your wake up call is at 5, breakfast at 530, bus at 6. ok, i try and go to sleep at 10, nope. I was up practically all night, i wasnt use to sleeping by my self, no kid kicking you. No wife wanting to cuddle. So i maybe got like 1 hour a sleep the whole night. I dont want to go into extreme detail about meps, but it was alot of waiting. It is really just a prescreening to verify your health. Had a FULL physical. Oh but i failed my depth perception, i am like what. i have 20/20 vision. I almost failed my pulse. He took my BP and my pulse was well over 100, 4 trys and 8 minutes latr my pulse went down to an acceptable 100 something, like 102 i think. But i left there like 430 thurs. and got back to my wife at 5. I will be going back again, fun fun, to talk to a classifier but i will still have to get a partial physical, everytime you go there you are getting checked. turn and cough. Well my brain is fried. Little Music Man

I am very picky when it comes to music, which everyone is. I listen mainly to rock and hip-hop. Well last year while my wife was pregnant i had went to the local music store to pick up the new yellowcard CD that came out. I found my self holding a classical type Cd some how. I mean of course it had four beautiful women on the cover, naturally i stuck it under the scanner to give it a listen. Not bad i thought, it wasn't straight up classical though. It had a bit of rock to it. That CD was Explosive, a group named Bond. It is a Cd on one side, DVD on the other with 3 vids. As naturally, with any new CD, i put it in my CD player in the car and it stayed there for a solid week, and then on and off that following month. I have a bad habit of listening to one CD for a long time. So when me and my wife would go to the doctor or where ever, that CD was playing. Well right now our son is about to turn one on Oct. 4. Every morning is a routine. He wakes up around 7, I set him on the floor, i turn on the TV/DVD player and play all three videos of them playing. He will sit there and watch it, and i mean watch. Once it is done playing he pulls himself on our bed and will start to play with me till i get out of bed. Even then i take him into the living room, turn on the TV to vh1, MTV, and he will stand there and dance/watch the videos, and of course he is picky as well, he has his favorites that he will watch and others he walks away on. diploma

Yes i am finally done. I have been done for about a month. Just been waiting for it in the mail, i finally got it friday and was shocked at how nice it is and the quality of it and the jacket for it. Well that was money well spent. Lesson?!: Dont drop out of school in your junior year, it cost way to much to do it again! But for anyone else who needs to get there credited diploma and not a ged. go to firstcoastacademy.com. You can do it all at home on the computer or through mail and it is very surprising how much they can help you.

baby boy walking

Well our little boy is starting to walk. He started about a month ago, he started standing on his own but then quickly started to take steps. He had first walked for me, it was early morning for me, say around 1pm, no just joking, 7 am and as usual we would go in the living room and watch music videos, he loves to dance. But i was barely awake, out of the corner of my eye i saw him stand up beside the couch and take 2 steps away, he then paused and looked at me, i was in shock. I had laughed and he sat down. Of course my wife didnt believe me when she woke up, but later that day she saw for herself.



We have been working with him and found it easier when there are fewer people around. He will really only walk if no one or 2 people max (mainly mom and dad) are around. This is a short little video we have of him most recently. He was walking all the way down the hall but i accidently scared him. It is difficult to get him walking on film, he loves the camera and most always sits down and smiles.
