Copy-Cat

Wow. Didn't realize Chris wasn't posting stuff. Well.....to clue everyone in....I had a surgery on the 25th of November. It was on my ovaries, cervix, and uterus. I have Endometrious, so they had to go in and clean it all out. So I am pain free once again....YAY!
But in other news, Chris is coming home next week....on the 17th, and he will be here until the 29th. So we are so excited.
I can hardly wait.
But Christian is doing good. Talking non-stop. He in the copy-everything-you-say stage right now. But he is to funny. His new favorite word is "WOW". Everything is "wow" to him. And he has to help. He even has his own chores. But he is getting so big. I swear, I'm going to try not to blink for the rest of my life.
But, we will try to keep ya'll updated more. We love everybody.
Write again soon.

Helllooooo Texas,

I have made it to corpus, finnally. I got hear like 0100 wed. And still had to get up at o'dark thirty to head over to school. Its not to bad here, well it kinda is, we sit in the middle of nowhere about 10 miles from the closest off base building. A walmart and a few restaraunts, but even further to anything remotely interesting/different. Nothing to do here on base but school really, which is what the navy wants im sure. I mean you gotta travel like 15 miles to grab a drink practically, the beer better be worth the trip. lol. I just wanted to post something real quik as i am busy with some "homework". So til' later. peace

Dwindling Down....

My time here in chicago is ending. I will be leaving for my A-school to get the training on my actual job, my training here has been all the electrical basics needed to perform. I sure am going to miss this city, going to miss the new friends i have made, my shipmates, but its what happens. It is sure to be a neverending cycle of duty station after duty station, constantly making new friends. But the one the that will never change is the love and support from my beautiful wife Ashley. I miss you and love you very much honey.

So as i sit back, and think about this, it being really cold past few days, almost like it wants to snow, and how big this city is, and then i think about texas, wow, big change. But i am excited and cant wait, i know two of my fellow shipmates just left for the school not even a few weeks ago, things are looking good.

Trick or Bark

On Thursday, the 23rd, Beaufort, SC, held an annual early Halloween trick or treating for kids. It was in the downtown area, so all of the stores participated.
Christian was so cute. He was a little puppy. We even put the dots on his face.
So as we walked up to the people passing out candy, Christian started barking. It was the cutest thing. He would say "trick or treat", well... more like "ick o eat". But barking was even more fun.
So after a while of carrying his Elmo Halloween bucket around, he would walk up to someone with a table, set his bucket down, and let out a big sigh of relief. It was priceless.
We took some pictures, but we have to get them off of the camera first. But I will definately post some as soon as I can.

P.S. I love you Christopher.......Always and Forever

Well....

Been a while since my last post, been real busy my life in the navy. Not to mention how pissed off i have been with my roomates.
First the plus side of my navy life here in great lakes, il. Wait, plus side? where, what plus side?! lol. I go to advanced technical training school during the day, not to bad, almost done with that here then off to corpus cristi, tx. Which is my real school for my rate. Hopefully in about 2 weeks i should be outta here. But after school we come back to the ship/barracks, we have duty sections that muster daily after school, so every 4 days is my duty day, which consist of cleaning up the ship, standing watches/guard duty on the ship. But the days we dont have duty we get liberty, which is normally around 1800/6:00pm and our liberty expires at 2100/9:00 pm. So at that time we all have to be back in the ship, weekends that you dont have duty you get liberty all day. Well there are 2 phases, phase 1 is where every night, friday, saturday, and sunday you have to be back on the ship by 2100, your liberty expires. Phase 2 you can leave the base friday at liberty call and not come back till 2100 on sunday. Also phase 1 means you have to be in uniform to go on liberty and you are restricted from drinking alcoholic beverages. Phase 2 can wear civillian clothing and drink if of age to. Well happily i got my phase 2 just about 2-3 weeks after getting to this base. Unhappily, and why i am so pissed off at my roomate is i got dropped down to phase 1 just this past friday. He was sick in quarters, restricted to the room because he was sick, he could go to and from chow but thats it. Bed rest is a sure way of getting the navys investment back on his feet. So friday morning me and my other 2 roomates woke up and cleaned the room just before heading out to school, as always. We get daily room inspections, so anytime you leave the room it should be inspection ready. Well we cleaned and headed out for school. Our sick roomate being sick in quarters(SIQ) stayed behind. Well when he went for chow at lunch, he didnt clean up after himself. Came back after and carried on. We get back from school only to find out that we failed our room inspect. BOOOM, Dropped to phase 1. I bet you have never heard a sailor curse like i was. Me and my other roomates tried talking to our petty officer but wasnt interested in hearing it. So because of 1 shitmate, shipmate i can no longer drink, wear civilian clothes, or stay overnight in chicago this 4-day weekend we got coming up. I have to wait 2-weeks till i can try and get my phase 2 back, which means i may get it just before i leave. WOW. I could really use a bottle of capt. morgan and coke.
But other than that, it is all swell here. I miss my family, i miss being able to hold my wife, being able to play with my son, whos birthday was this past saturday, just turned 2 and i wasnt there to see it, much like the future where i am bound to miss more. But its ok i can deal with it. I know i am here for a good reason, i will continue to do my best, do my part in defending our freedom. I know my son and my wife are safe and in good hands. I want to thank her for being so supportive and trustworthy, sending me care packages, talking to me everynight letting me know how proud she is of me. And i am so proud of her, for being such a great mother to our son, and just being an awesome wife. I couldnt ask for anything more.

lib call ends! nooooo!!

Sunday Sept. 21

Sitting here in my room, fixing to go to bed, looking back on my weekend, wow. i had a pretty descent weekend, drank more alcohol in 3 days than i normally drink in a month. not to mention a bottle of the captain and about 40-60 cans of beer between the four of us, well really between me and my buddy. When i stepped in the doorway to my room, my roommate said he new i had a good time, because i ranked of alcohol. He was afraid to go to the smoke deck with me outta fear of me combusting into flames.lol. But we went to the navy pier and walked around there, rented a quad bike, how embarissing, lol, but then got individual bikes after that and rode around the beach and into the city. We did alot, mostly drink but hey, we didnt want the stores beer supply to sit there too long and expire. I am still feeling the effects of this weekend. Yet am looking frwd to doing it again.
so yeah, me and my buddy are talking about doing this again, going back to chicago with some more of our buddies and hitting up the city like next weekend or so. As i may not be here much longer, atleast weekend wise. I should hopefully be done with my school here in about 3 weeks, and hopefully leaving for ingleside tx that next week. well i have a long day ahead of me tommorow, so i better hit the sack. peace

Liberty Call, Liberty Call!!!!!!!

It is 0812, I tell you this beacause I didnt fall asleep till like 330-400 this morning, late night. Spending my weekend Liberty in a hotel called the aloft, a very nice retro like hotel. Spent last night drinking and just hanging out with my now third family. I say my third family because my first family is of course my real family, the wonderfull wampler family. Whom i miss so much< wish i could travel and see them but it is outside of our allowed radius from the base. My second family would be my ex-girlfriends/ friends family, whom lived across the street from us down in jacksonville. They always treated me and my brothers as if we were there own kids, but favored me more as i was the one with there daughter. lol. No but they really have been there for us and i am truly glad to have met them. Now this third family i speak of is my best buddies mom. I only really just met her last night, along with my buddies younger sister, but have talked to her on the phone before. we were up till 0100 just sitting back outside infront of the fireplace, just talking and drinking the night away.

Now, just recently, last 2 weeks, my buddy and I, along with the entire base, woke up at 0500 to start getting ready for the day, school, and at around 0600-0615 i guess, my buddy got called down to the petty officers office in our barracks. Naturally you think you are in trouble. Now my buddy is not one to get in trouble, i have really only known him for 2 months, but 2 months in a place where you see each other everyday, talk to, hang out with on liberty, and share a room with, well shared, you get to know each other very well. I feel like i have known him for years. But anyaway, he assumed he was in trouble, so he proceeded to the office, where instead of spit in his face, he recieved a red cross letter. That letter is bad news, always is. His step-father whom he looked to as his actual father had just passed away the day before, he died in his private plane that had went down in colorado. Now i had no idea any of this had happened, so proceeded to the smoke deck like we always do before we march out for school. He met me out there with a face that you could was fighting to hold back tears. he told me and that hit me like a brick wall, been so close to him that it really hit me, i could feel what he was feeling. So he caught the first flight out to texas. I dont really want to go into all the details about how the week went for them, but it sure as hell didnt help that a hurricane came and hit them that same week. I stayed in contact with him everyday, checked up on him and his family. They are fine right now, just getting away from it all and enjoying there weekend here in chicago. Going to take a bike tour in the city today. Get smashed tonight as there will be a dj here in the hotel tonight. Hooyah rum-n-coke.

So last night we were just talking about everything, there mom was telling me all about there life practically, and my life, my wonderfull wife ashley, and adorable son christian. Last night was a good night, she thinks of me as family and i feel like family. I am truly glad to have met them all, and hope that wherever the navy takes him, he has a successfull career and i hope the best for them all.

well.... the time is drawing near

I realize it has been a month since i last posted anything, but it is just hard for me to do so, i have been so busy with preparing for bootcamp. It will be 30 days to go this coming monday, the 21st. I have to go to a board meeting monday, i have to do my PRT Physical Readiness Test this week, and if everything goes great with my dad, we will be moving in with him and my step-mom next saturday. I have been sick the past three days now, along with my wife and son. I seem to have the worst of it. I havent really been able to sleep all night, i am in and out of sleep, waking up earlier than normal. I am finding myself worrying about bootcamp, am i ready? Will i be the best i can be, my family is counting on me, i cant fail! My dad has to have surgery, it may not be much to worry about, as it is a simple procedure, but i do worry. Well anyway, other than being sick, everything is fine. Little man has been his usual self, just a ball of fire, ready to get in trouble and being a stunt devil.

Hannah Montana

A few weeks ago when her concert came to town, the news showed parents buying the concert tickets, interviews stating they are happy that there is still a good role model for there kids. Role models are in short supply when you look at the drug problems or what not. Well I'm not one to be interested in kid shows, or new music by kids. Well i have to admit, i caught myself watching her Disney channel show, and listening to her music when its on the radio. And duh me i finally figured out she is Miley Cyrus, Billy Ray Cyrus` daughter. Well anyway her show is pretty good, when there is nothing good on, you may occasionally catch it on my TV. So now i am one to say all those things the parents were saying.

Miley Cyrus - See You Again

Pulling in the Slack!

I must admit that i have been a little slacker lately.Like posting on a regular basis, but really i mean exercising. I haven't been running, i haven't been doing push-ups nor sit-ups. Well this morning i have changed all that. I got up at 0745 and went for my 1.5 mile run, i didn't time my self, i just wanted to get out and do it. I used to be able to run the 1.5 in about 11 minutes which was great, i was one of the better distance runners in JROTC, not the best, but up there with them. I figure that my run this morning was probably about 13 minutes, NOT GOOD. But i can improve, i know i was great, i know i can still be great, just got to do it every morning. And no, its not the smoking that slowed me down, its the fact i haven't really ran like i used to back in high school. I ran about every night.

Now the push-ups/sit-ups have gotten hard. But i can still do passing in 2 minutes. Which passing is about 42, not sure exact, but close.

Today was the first day i have felt this good in a long time. Pride.

Disgusting

My Webster`s Thesaurus defines the title as follows, (Disgusting- Repugnant, Revolting, Sickening; see offensive 2), now offensive 2 has a lot of words for it definition so allow me to sum up, (Offensive 2- displeasing, horrible, nauseating, dreadful, terrible, ghastly, unpleasing......so on.)

OK so why did I show you that? Well my 12 ounce T-Bone steak at our local Shoneys restaurant was pretty much that. It was bathed in garlic and butter, you could literally squeeze butter out into a bowl and then use it for a foot long piece of bread. The only thing that could help this 12 ounces of butter and garlic was to drench it in A-1, about half the bottle perhaps. We will never again go there!!

Untitled

I am going crazy, the weather here is spuratic, it warms up, cools down, warms up again, then we get tornadoes, followed by severe wind and cold today! All three of us just got over colds.

But anyway all is well, been staying busy with stuff inside, trying to keep little man entertained inside, which is a major challenge. Kid loves being outside, I have another inspection at my recruiters office this coming up wed. As a personal feat, i have been learning morse code, something i thought was interesting in many ways, and could just come in handy one day. I have been cracking the code that sounds during the title of JERICHO on cbs, giving you a little hint. I have to record to my laptop and slow it down as i am not that gifted yet, real morse code is fast, hoping this coming Tues i can decipher it alot quicker.

New Amsterdam-a new series on fox i think is really cool. We watched the pilot and immediately were hooked, I guess i could stand to watch this while my all time fav Nip/Tuck is off the air and potentially ruined for good. But back to Amsterdam, if you havent hear it is about a NYC detective who can-not die, he has lived since before the city itself and continues to stay his young self, the only way for him to die is to find and marry his true love. Blah blah blah, watch it on cbs monday nights.

This was taken yesterday after he got done playin b-ball.

Today, chillin with momma,

Those cats were egging him on, "let us out please kid, we will give you our hidden bag of cat nip!!!"

And after a hard day of playing, and trying to help the cats, you get hungry, well he had the munchys bad, but just couldn't find something good, except for the block of cheese he ran off with.

No help from us, he is a smart kid.

Everything is going good, not to much for us to blog about.

Little Looker

I know its been a while since my last post. I have been a little busy with studying my book for the navy and getting things signed off, not to mention the oil change from H E double hockey sticks, again! But that's a whole other story for later.

To the title now, we went out to dinner tonight to Cross Creek, a nice barbecue-type restaurant. Well little man Christian just didn't want to sit still, nothing could keep him planted. Well that is except for our waitress, every time she came to check on us, or just walk by, he would stop and stare. He was in a daze just looking at her as she cleaned another table beside ours. It was hilarious, especially when I get a hand across the face for just a glance, jeez, kinda not fare when you think about it. Just kidding, I would never look at another woman as long as I have my Ash. And yes she is standing next to me. lol.

Little Man

Now this is what you call a 12 step program, well actually 5, but you get it.

Looks like someone got into mommas lip stick, and tried putting it on!

Everyday is a new adventure with him, he has begun testing me. If I say no he looks and does it again to verify what it is I am saying no to. He has also learned that if I start counting 1..2..3, that he needs to do what I said. Like when he climbs up on something, like my subwoofer, i say get down, he looks but then I count and he hurrys to get down. It also applies to bath, he loves taking baths but just dont like water being dumped on his head. So I count and he expects the water on 3. I swear this kid just wont stop climbing things.

Deadliest Catch/James Bond

Well its almost that time again, as far as i know. According to an unofficial fan site it will be returning again this April.http://www.deadliest-catch.com/ We love that show, I forgot to mention it in my previous post, but it is definetly something else. I remember when it first came on, I was whatever another stupid show, but then later that year I caught an episode and was hooked. I guess with it being so long since I have seen it on and being caught up in my Nip/Tuck i just forgot about it.http://dsc.discovery.com/fansites/deadliestcatch/deadliestcatch.html Well as I said that first link is an unofficial fan site but this one is the main page for discovery. Hopefully it will be coming back on in April, yet again I wont really be able to watch tv in boot camp now will I.

Now I know I said I didnt really care for the new James Bond, Daniel Craig playing the part, but let me clarify. I think he is a good actor, I just dint feel the 007 in the movie Casino Royale. I enjoyed the movie, just didnt feel like Bond. Now with that said hopefully this next Bond movie will be better. Quantum of Solace is the title and it is supposedly coming out in November 2008. As I should be out of boot camp and A-school and have a chance of seeing it in theaters.
http://commanderbond.net/article/1430. Well that is about all I have for now. Good Evening.

Little Man

Tune back in 2morow for more on...

BZZZzzzz Ouch! BZZZzzzz Oouucchh!

Today my lovely wife went under, under a needle, a tattoo needle. This would be her first tattoo, it was our friends idea and gift. Jessyca our friend has a few tattos and wanted to get one with Ashley, before we leave for the NAVY. She has been such a good friend to the both of us, and to little man, or as she calls him little chicken. So long story short, they got matching tattoos, Ash got them on her ankle while Jess got hers behind her ear.

Before.....

After.....

Jessyca....

OH NO! Prime Time Stress

Both me and my wife are huge on watching Nip/Tuck. Just recently we started watching Jericho and came into a crisis. Nip/tuck comes on FX @ 10:00pm, Jericho comes on CBS @ 10:00pm. No biggie, Nip/Tuck always comes back on @ 11:00pm, so the line up works. But just today i find out that Nip/Tuck episode tnoight is the season finale, Oh no, I could put up with it, but they left it off in just such the way that I just cant get over it. I find my self begging for more as if I was addicted to a drug, that I would do anything for more.

We dont watch alot of tv, those 2 programs are pretty much it. I watch re-runs of Survivorman, or Man vs Wild, even Futureweapons/Weaponology. Mostly the discovery channel learning stuff. My wife watches her American Idol, Project Runway, and Americas Next Top Model. Thats it, but Nip/Tuck and Jericho we always watch together. If you havent heard or seen of Jericho you should check it out. It is about what might happen if nuclear weapons where used against the U.S. Jericho being a small town out of the way, away from the blast, and the people in that town surviving, it is really an eye open. Well I know i hadnt posted in while and I mean just having done watched the finale of Nip/Tuck, I kinda worked myself up, I know it must be like blah blah blah.

But I feel better, and I should have a really good post for tomorow so I will see you then.

Little Big Man is gettin Bigger!!!

He sure loves peanut butter sandwiches, or just on a spoon!
Afternoon nap with one of three of our cats, thats wesson, and his brother smith was probably on our bed.
He was up real late one night, me and him, til about 5 am. He just didnt want to sleep, so we played some xbox 360, and......

....got his hand stuck in the cookie jar!
He is doing really well, he gets in those moods sometimes where he just wants some attention, like now, tuggin on my shirt! He has started to climb everything, he wants nothing to do with baby food, he wants what mommy and daddy eat, loves carrots and potatoes. But for now that is all i have. So have a good night/day.

Good News, late is better than never!

First off,, I Know. It has been along time since i have updated. Part of the reason i quit blogging was the last blog of mine, it stirred up alot of shall i say bad things. I removed it for the trouble it was apparently causing. For people to be putting down a young mother who just lost her little baby girl due to a violent father, and to be so crude to say you have no pitty for that poor little baby, who suffered until she finally passed. To this minute it still spins me up. I could understand some comments but some were way to harsh, if you want to be a cold hearted SOB, then fine, but not here.

Now for the news everyone has been waiting for......

I have finally signed for the US Navy. I will be going to bootcamp in may, although I didnt get the job i wanted, i will be able to switch to that job in about 2 years. But I do have a pretty cool job. I will be a sailor on a MineSweeper, using some pretty cool equipment to detect mines. You can definetly anticipate more blogging from us, specially after we get stationed somewhere.
I had to go this past Saturday to the local base for our division meeting, mainly just a cookout and games. This past Wednesday night i had to go to the recruiting station for our monthly real meeting, where we have to show them we have been studying our booklets and know our knowledge. High School ROTC really paid off, I know most everything there is to know in the book. Since I have previous drill/marching experience I am looked at as a role model of sort, a leader. Now there are a few others with rotc but not many. Not to mention the fact that I myself have been raised in the navy, and the support and help i get from my Dad, has really impacted my life, i know what to expect. I know for a fact i will make a damn good sailor, hopefully I can be just as good as my dad. I have always looked up to him, I am proud of him for all his acomplishments and can only hope my son will be just as proud of me one day.
